This Week’s eBay Madness
Back during the Internet Bubble (late ’90s/early 2000s) when I was a humble worker bee at USA Today, I remember editing a story about plans for a technology that would allow TV viewers who really dug the clothes worn in a particular show to purchase them online. And unless I’m mistaken, Gilmore Girls was one of the examples they used. Clearly if you were going to do something like this (and I regret to say I don’t know if this ever actually came about), Gilmore Girls was the show to do it on.
Apparently this eBayer wasn’t waiting for some propeller-headed technology. I’ll let her explain it via her auction pitch:
“I am a HUGE Gilmore Girls fan and had bought these because the “Lorelai Gilmore” character played by Lauren Graham wore the exact brand/style as these boots. They are a beautiful black leather knee high boot. The heel is about 2 inches high.”
As it turns out, boots weren’t her only poison. Another of her items:
“I originally bought the jacket because the Gilmore Girls character “Lorelai” wore this same brand/style jacket (only in khaki) on several episodes and I LOVE her clothes.”
One can’t help thinking what Lorelai would have to say about this…or indeed, Emily.
