‘Gilmore Girls’: Saved by the Bell?

A seasoned actor in his own right, George Anthony Bell joined Gilmore Girls in its third season (and remained there until the final episode of the series) to help the growing stable of actors cope with the delivery of some of the most sophisticated dialogue in television history. During his time there, he saw the different techniques each actor used to make those lines their own.

Though he never set out to be a dialogue coach, my talk with him last night showed me first-hand how his warm manner and patience made him a favorite among many actors on the series. It even prompted one prominent member of the cast to say she could not see doing the show without the confidence that he instilled in them all.
